Matter of Time 1/10
( 2021 and ongoing )
Come join me to my favorite landscape. The mountains in Ober-Wallis, where the massive Aletsch Glacier meanders through ages old matter. I come here often and prefer to be alone. Hiking and climbing from hut to hut, occasionally sleeping in my own little tent. When winter conditions limit my paths I stay in the village. Here I admire the views. Always the same, yet different every time.
I feel different here. I am small, in this immensity. I am less relevant, in this endlessness. It is time that make it all so different? At home, time for me is the alarm clock, waiting, deadlines, too early or too late.
Mountains are time, solidified. Dead still, yet always moving. Time is space here. Time is the sun and the moon. Water freezes, snow melts. Like the glacier, it grows and it shrinks. Time is slow here.
We are only here for a while.
